Making beautiful things has always been Lydia Smith’s means of escape and today she feels privileged to be able to work as a craftsperson.
Lydia originally trained in fashion design at the University of Westminster. She worked for British design houses as well as freelancing as a pattern cutter. Through evening classes she experimented with clay for the first time, quickly realising this was a passion she needed to follow full time.
In 2018 Lydia moved to Ireland to join the DCCI Pottery Skills and Design course with the goal of making ceramics her new career path.
After graduating in 2020 she decided to set up a studio in Kilkenny
